Goverment Scrappage Sheme:

In the budget the Goverment have announced a vehicle scrappage scheme for cars over 10 years old giving a grant of £2,000 ( £1,000 form the Goverment and £1,000 from participating manufactureres). The scheme will commence from mid May 2009 and last till March 2010 or until funding has been used.

What and who is eligable:

• Passenger cars or small vans up to 3.5 tonnes, first registered before 29th Feb 2000 (cars) or 28th Feb 2002 (vans); 
• Must be currently taxed and have a valid MOT test certificate;
• Registered keeper must have a UK address and must have been the registered keeper of the vehicle for the previous 12 months continuously.
